Sumit Mathur, the former Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Kellogg India, has recently been appointed as the new CMO of Paytm. Mathur had served Kellogg India for almost six years before joining Paytm.
Mathur shared the news of his departure from Kellogg India in a LinkedIn post in February, where he reflected on his time at the company. He stated that 20% of his time was spent on understanding why people eat cereals, 5% on deciding what to do, and the remaining 75% on executing it.
Before joining Kellogg India, Mathur worked with Hindustan Unilever for over 14 years, holding various marketing positions such as Area Sales Manager, Senior Brand Manager, Marketing Manager, Category Director for Ice Creams in South Asia, and General Manager for Ice Creams in India.
Mathur’s extensive experience in the marketing industry has earned him recognition as a co-chair of the Marketing Leadership Committee at the Confederation of Indian Industry and as a member of the Consumer Complaints Council at the Advertising Standards Council of India.
