Publicis Groupe, a leading advertising and marketing communications company, has recently announced the appointment of Ajit Gurnani as the Chief Business Development Officer for South Asia.
Gurnani will take on this additional responsibility along with his current role as the Chief Growth Officer for Publicis Media Services in India. In his new position, Gurnani will report to Anupriya Acharya, CEO of Publicis Groupe South Asia, and work closely with her to enhance the company’s new business offerings, strengthen client relationships, and drive growth for the Groupe and its clients.
Gurnani’s appointment is aimed at accelerating the company’s growth trajectory in South Asia by driving greater synergies and connectivity across Groupe agencies, solution hubs, and practices for increased client value and maximum business results.
He will be responsible for expanding Groupe’s business offerings, strengthening client relationships, and driving growth through new business opportunities. Additionally, he will work closely with Tanmay Mohanty, CEO of Publicis Media Services India, to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities for the company.
In his current role as the Chief Growth Officer for Publicis Media Services in India, Gurnani has played a key role in enabling some of the key media wins of 2022, having helmed critical global and local pitches. He has been with the Groupe for almost eight years now, working across various roles in Zenith and Publicis Media. In addition to his leadership roles in media networks, Gurnani also brings extensive client-side experience from his previous stint at Marico and other organizations.
Gurnani’s appointment as Chief Business Development Officer for South Asia is expected to bring a fresh perspective and drive growth for Publicis Groupe. His extensive experience in both agency and client-side roles makes him well-equipped to lead Groupe’s business development efforts in South Asia and help drive growth for the company and its clients.
