Zomato, the popular food ordering and delivery platform in India, has announced its integration within the highly anticipated film ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,’ marking the first-ever in-film integration of an Indian company in a Hollywood movie.
Zomato’s brand name will be prominently featured in a significant scene of the film, and the platform is leaving no stone unturned to generate excitement and buzz around this integration.
Sony Pictures Entertainment India plans to double the number of screens for this film compared to the first installment, ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,’ which won an Oscar and was released in June 2018.
To showcase this unique integration, Zomato has planned a range of promotional activities. These include advertisements on out-of-home billboards and sky buses in four major cities (Bangalore, Kolkata, Delhi, and Mumbai), a dedicated Spider-Man crystal on the Zomato application, and animated videos across various digital platforms.
Zomato’s association with ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ represents a significant milestone in the company’s journey and highlights the global recognition of an Indian company in the entertainment world. Zomato aims to continue engaging with its customers on new and innovative levels through such collaborations.
‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ has been generating immense anticipation leading up to its release. The film will be released in 10 languages in India, adding to the excitement. Furthermore, this installment introduces the Indian Spider-Man character, ‘Pavitr Prabhakar,’ for the first time theatrically in the Spider-Verse universe. This has garnered significant attention, especially with the inclusion of Indian cricketer Shubman Gill as the voice of the character.
Zomato’s integration within ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ not only amplifies Zomato’s brand visibility but also exemplifies the growing global influence and recognition of Indian companies in the entertainment industry.
Shony Panjikaran, General Manager & Head, Sony Pictures Releasing International, India said, “‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ has been creating a lot of buzz in India with multiple milestones, including a first time ever 10 language theatrical release, and a collaboration with Indian cricketer Shubman Gill for the voice of Indian Spider-Man. Zomato has always been in the forefront of innovations, for its services as well as marketing. We are proud of this association and are delighted to have formed such an exclusive and never done before collaboration in India.”
Sahibjeet Singh Sawhney, Marketing Head, Zomato commented on the integration, saying, “At Zomato, we believe in moving onwards and upwards.
