Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden’s upcoming spy thriller series, Citadel, has been creating a buzz among fans. The show also features Stanley Tucci in a significant role. Priyanka, who started her career in Bollywood, has been a part of the entertainment industry for almost 22 years now. In a recent interview with Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke at the South by Southwest Film Festival (SXSW) 2023, Priyanka revealed that Citadel is the first time in her career that she received equal pay.
Priyanka Chopra stated that although she has done almost 70-plus features and two TV shows, it was only when she worked on Citadel that she received pay parity. She jokingly said, “I might get into trouble for saying this, depends on who’s watching. I’ve been working in the entertainment industry for now 22 years, and I have done almost 70-plus features and two TV shows. But when I did Citadel, it was the first time in my career that I had pay parity. I’m laughing about this, but it’s kind of nuts.”

She further explained, “I put in the same amount of investment and work, but I get paid much less. But the ease with which Amazon Studios said, ‘That’s what you deserve, you are co-leads, that’s just fair,’ and I was like, ‘You’re right, it’s fair.'”
The trailer of Citadel was also released, in which Priyanka Chopra plays the role of Nadia Sinh, an agent who is believed to be dead according to the files but in reality, has had her memory wiped out. The trailer starts with the two leads on a train, with Priyanka looking stunning in a red dress. The sequences shown in the trailer look top-notch, and Priyanka and Richard Madden’s chemistry is brilliant as well.
