Netflix India and The Archies by Netflix have recently shared a promotional Reel on Instagram for the highly-anticipated film ‘The Archies.’ The Reel showcases a flyer attached to a plane with the message “Follow @archiesoninstagram” using impressive visual effects (VFX).
The accompanying caption reads, “Riverdale’s journey is confirmed. Get ready for an adventure back to the era of fun, friendship, and romance. Follow @archiesnetflix and stay tuned for more.”

The ad features the Gateway of India, the iconic symbol of Mumbai. Interestingly, this is not the first time Netflix has utilized the Gateway of India in its ads. Prior to the premiere of ‘Stranger Things 4’ Vol. 1 on May 27, a spectacular celebration took place in Mumbai for fans, featuring unique projection mapping on the beloved tourist landmark. The Gateway of India was transformed with a larger-than-life display of popular elements from the series.
Based on the renowned The Archies Comics franchise and set in the fictional town of Riverdale, the film, titled ‘The Archies,’ has sparked mixed reactions online. Directed by Zoya Akhtar and produced by Tiger Baby Films (co-owned by Akhtar and Reema Kagti), the movie has generated significant anticipation since the release of its initial poster. Accompanied by a catchy music track by Ankur Tiwari and the Islanders, the announcement introduced the cast to the audience.
Taking viewers back to the 1960s, ‘The Archies’ serves as a commercial platform for “nepo babies” Agastya Nanda (grandson of Amitabh Bachchan), Suhana Khan (daughter of Shah Rukh Khan), and Khushi Kapoor (daughter of Sridevi and younger sister of Janhvi Kapoor). While some have criticized the inclusion of these “nepo babies,” others express their excitement for what promises to be a captivating film.
The cast for The Archies also includes Mihir Ahuja, Dot, Yuvraj Menda, and Vedang Raina, contributing to a musical experience filled with youth, rebellion, friendships, and everything related to young adults.
Production for the film concluded in December 2022, and Netflix officially released the reveal video and poster just a day ago.
