Google’s Bard AI is now available in nine Indian languages

Google Bard AI, the conversational AI chatbot, has recently undergone a major update, expanding its language support to 40 new languages and extending its availability to over 230 countries. With these enhancements, along with a range of new features, Google aims to provide a more inclusive and personalized conversational experience for users worldwide.

Expanded Language Support for Bard AI

In a recent blog post by Amarnag Subramanya, VP-engineering, Bard, and Jack Krawczyk, product lead, Bard, Google announced that Bard is now capable of operating in 40 languages. This expansion includes nine languages of Indian origin, namely Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Gujarati, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. By broadening its language capabilities, Bard AI opens up new avenues for users to engage in conversations in their native languages, fostering more inclusive and accessible interactions.

New Features Enhancing User Experience

In line with Google’s dedication to enhancing AI services, Bard has introduced several new features that enrich the user experience and cater to individual preferences. One notable addition is the ability for users to listen to Bard’s responses in their preferred language by simply selecting a sound icon. This feature facilitates easier comprehension and engagement, particularly for users who prefer auditory input.

Bard now allows users to customize the tone and style of its responses. While currently available only in English, users can choose from five options – simple, long, short, professional, or casual. This personalization feature empowers users to tailor the conversational style to their specific needs and desired interaction.

To enhance usability, Bard now enables users to pin and rename conversations, allowing them to revisit and refer to specific prompts at a later time. Additionally, a sidebar has been introduced, offering options to pin, rename, and access recent conversations conveniently. These enhancements promote the organization and make it easier for users to navigate their interactions with Bard.

Moreover, conversations and responses generated by Bard can now be shared within a user’s network, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing. This feature is available in over 40 languages, allowing users to seamlessly exchange insights and engage in meaningful discussions.

Google has integrated the capabilities of Google Lens into Bard AI, providing users with the ability to upload images as prompts. Bard then generates responses, such as information or descriptions, based on the uploaded images. Although this feature is currently limited to English, Google plans to expand its availability to other languages in the future. This integration enhances Bard’s functionality and broadens its utility for users seeking visual assistance and information.
